I am an investigatve editor at the Washington Post. Previously, I worked as the Deputy Washington Bureau Chief of VICE News and a senior producer for VICE News Tonight on HBO, and as the editor-in-chief of the award-winning Dallas Observer. My stories have appeared in the Washington Post, the Washingtonian, Deadspin, the Village Voice, and elsewhere.

I’m also the author of Bones: Brothers, Horses, Cartels, and the Borderland Dream, which was short-listed for a PEN America literary award and called “masterfully recounted" by the New York Times; and Ms. Mirage, a 2019 work of narrative nonfiction published by Amazon Original Stories.
